EVENT GUIDE
Precautions
・This is not a race, but a fun ride event where you can enjoy cycling.
・Please obey traffic laws and regulations when riding.
Terms and Conditions
・People aged elementary school or older who are in good health and able to complete the course by the specified time.
・People who can abide by the participation terms and conditions and precautions set by the event organizers.
・Minors participating require parental consent.
・Elementary school students must be accompanied by an adult, and the accompanying adult must also apply to participate in the event.
・Middle school students participating must apply for a plan that includes an accompanying runner or accompanying support.
About the event
・This event is not a competition for ranking. Please ride while observing traffic laws and regulations.
・On the road, ride in a single file; do not ride alongside other riders.
・Wearing gloves and a helmet is mandatory.
・Bicycle inspections will not be conducted. Please make sure your bicycle is in good condition, such as by having it maintained and checked at a nearby bicycle shop.
・Follow the instructions of security guards when crossing major intersections and dangerous areas.
・Participants should check the route, junctions, aid stations, time limits, etc. of the course before participating.
・Follow instructions from support riders and ride safely.
・For safety, always use hand signals. Or, if hand signals are difficult, call out to those around you to let them know.
・When stopping on the course, always check for safety in front of and behind you, signal to those behind you, and stop slowly.
・Ride with caution, paying close attention to nearby pedestrians and vehicles.
・Accompanying runners in private cars is prohibited.
About bicycles
・Eligible bicycles for the event must be standard bicycles with front and rear brakes that are approved for use on public roads.
・Participants are welcome to use road bikes, mountain bikes, cyclocross bikes, cross bikes, mini velos, city cycles, e-bikes, and other bikes.
・Cross bikes and city bikes are also welcome, but please note that we ask that you use a bike that can complete the course within the time limit, taking into account the course and your riding ability.
・There are no restrictions on e-bikes, but please use a bike that can complete the course within the time limit, taking into consideration battery capacity and range.
Pre-inspection
Please check the following items in advance and make sure they are properly maintained.
・Check that the brakes and wheels are in good working order.
・Check that the gears are in good working order.
・Check that the frame and parts are properly secured.
・Check that the appropriate parts are lubricated.
・Prepare tools for punctures and other equipment problems.
・Check the condition of your helmet, cleats, and other equipment.
About equipment
・Please wear clothing that allows for safe cycling.
・For safety reasons, please be sure to wear a helmet (leather and cloth are prohibited) and gloves (work gloves are acceptable).
・Participants must be equipped with lights as there will be tunnels.
・Tail lights/reflectors must be installed.
・As a general rule, participants are responsible for dealing with any problems such as punctures. Please prepare tools and other necessary equipment in advance.
・If the event organizers determine that your vehicle is “inappropriately equipped,” you will not be able to participate.
Prohibited equipments
The use of the following equipment is prohibited:
・DH handlebars, clip-on handlebars, spinach handlebars, trailers, disc wheels
Other precautions
・Follow the instructions of staff during the race. Failure to follow traffic or race rules, or failure to improve despite being warned by race staff, may result in your withdrawal from the race.
・If you withdraw from the race, please notify an aid staff member or a nearby support rider.
・Participants are insured for personal injuries, but please note that there are limits to compensation. Personal injury and property damage are not covered. In Fukuoka Prefecture, personal bicycle insurance became mandatory in 2020, so we ask that each participant take out their own bicycle insurance.
・Please bring your health insurance card just in case.
・The organizer assumes no responsibility for theft or damage to bicycles.
・This event will proceed rain or shine. However, the event may be canceled in the event of severe weather.
Oath and portrait rights when participating in the event
By entering the competition, you agree to the following commitments.
- I agree to abide by all terms, regulations, and instructions established by the competition organizers.
- I am solely responsible for my personal and family belongings and sports equipment during the competition and any related events.
- I release myself, my family representative, guardian, and other related parties from any responsibility towards the organizers and competition officials in the event of injury or death during the competition or any related events, regardless of the cause.
- I pledge to be in good health and to have trained sufficiently in preparation for my participation in the competition.
- I have no objection to appropriate treatment being given to me in the event of injury, accident, or illness during the competition or any related events.
- I agree that the event may be interrupted, shortened or canceled immediately before or during the event due to adverse weather conditions such as strong winds, heavy rain, heavy snow or typhoons, natural disasters such as earthquakes, or due to reasons of the organizers, and that my entry fee may not be refunded.
- I agree that video, photographs and records of the event, as well as my personal information such as my name, age and gender, may be reported, published and used in newspapers, television, magazines, the Internet, pamphlets, etc. I further agree that the rights to publish and use such information belong to the organizers.
- I swear that all information provided in my application documents for this event is true and accurate.
